Authenticity in a Digital Age
Ignoring the larger issues facing us all daily such as who are you really interacting with on social media, let's focus on moment on photography. Recently a photography friend forwarded a set of images collected from a few different places around the internet that he found worth sharing. Many had to do with the recent hurricane Sandy in the northeast US. For the most part I found myself inclined to doubt the veracity of these images and was sure that they were "photoshopped." Given my long history with photography, I experienced a moment of sadness. A loss of innocence of sorts. Digital photographs can never be trusted.
